Christopher Horan has more than 15 years of experience in communications, education policy, and political strategy. As founder of Horan Communications (www.horancommunications.com), he provides coaching and consulting services to school districts, government agencies, non-profits, and emerging businesses. He brings expertise in messaging, communications planning, media relations, crisis communication, policy development, and integrated on-line strategy.
Chris began his career with the City of Boston as a speechwriter for Mayor Thomas M. Menino. From 1998 to 2010, Chris served in management roles for the Boston Public Schools, as Executive Secretary to the Boston School Committee, Chief of Staff to Superintendent Thomas W. Payzant, and the district’s first Chief Communications Officer, designing and executing an award-winning communications strategy for the largest school district in New England.
An accomplished writer and editor, Chris earned degrees from Princeton University and Emerson College. He is often sought as a speaker on effective communications for educational and other mission-driven organizations.
